Denver is Calling & You Should Go

Over the last few months Alec and I have had the chance to visit Denver on several occasions. With Allegiant Air now flying direct from Asheville to Denver I thought I would share a few of my transportation and dining recommendations

Hop off the plane and head straight down and outside to catch the train to downtown Denver. Not only is it the most cost effective transportation ($9 per ticket) it's just fun! The ride is about 20 mins. Get off at the Union Station stop and head straight into the Terminal Bar for a cocktail and snack.

We have stayed in a few hotels before but really enjoyed staying at an Airbnb in the LoHi district of Denver. It's walkable to so many great places to eat, drink and 5 mins to downtown.

Transportation

There's plenty options for getting around such as Lyft, Uber or my personal favorite is Denver b-Cycle. We used them a ton and its such a fun cheap way to see the city. For a unique 3 wheel experience check out eTuk .

Drinks & Dining:

Williams and Graham was one of Alec and I's favorite pre-dinner cocktail spots. It's a secret speakeasy that you enter through a bookcase wall. It's pretty small in the actual bar so they make you wait in a front room until there are available seats. Be prepared to enter a dimly lit sexy bar.

Next on the list is the hipster hangout Linger . It's an old mortuary and has a killer roof top bar. Make sure to grab a froze and the cheese curds as a snack.

Dinner at Mercantile is a must. We have had so many great meals here. The wine list, service and food are on point. They do offer breakfast and lunch but diner is my favorite meal here.

Head over to the Denver Central Market .This place has something for everyone. It's got lots of mini purveyors like a sandwich shop, pizzeria, charcuterie boards, local butcher shop, bar, ice-cream and coffee. I would recommend this as a lunch stop.
