Montage Palmetto Bluff
Updated: Aug 14, 2018
Montage Palmetto Bluff has been on my hit list for sometime now. The opportunity to get away for a long weekend came about so we jumped. The driving factor towards staying at Palmetto Bluff was that I didn't have anyone to watch my beloved Golden Retriever, Izzie and every rental property on Palmetto Bluff is dog friendly with no weight restrictions.
We drove through the gate and had a 3 mile stretch of glorious moss covered trees until we arrived at the Inn. Upon our arrival the valet let Izzie out and took her inside to the check in desk for a treat and placed a seersucker bow on her collar. The tone was set for service...
You don't need to worry about getting bored here. There are numerous activities such as biking down moss covered streets while admiring the beautiful southern architecture, shooting sporting clays, playing 18 holes on the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course that winds along the quiet and lazy May River or riding horses along the 173 acre farm.
For those of you who want to take a more laid back approach to your vacation there are many pools to cool off in and several that are adult only with Hamptons style cabanas. Be sure to make the most of your relaxation with a visit to the full service spa.
There are several modes of transportation such as golf cart rentals and bikes which were our preferred method of getting around. Another way to see the island is by water. We really enjoyed kayaking in the May River. We got to watch the dolphins pop up and birds dive for fish. You can also catch a few different types of boat tours or an evening cocktail cruise.
We opted to stay at the beautiful Inn during our visit, but they have so many options such as the adorable white River View Cottages that line the May River and glow in the evenings with their gas lanterns or you can rent a luxury home for all your friends and family.
You won't need to leave the resort to dine with so many options. Our personal favorites were the Octagon Bar, Canoe Club and Cole's . After dinner at Cole's (try the fried chicken) walk next door to the Boundary for bowling over after dinner coc
